ACAL was honoured to receive $1200 donation from the Rotaract Club of Mississauga.  It will be used to enhance the Centre's gardening program.

June 2016

ACAL was approved for federal funding for the Canada Summer Jobs initiative to hire five students during the summer of 2016.  These post-secondary students receive practical training in their varied fields.

February 2016

ACAL is very grateful for the on-going support of the Region of Peel for their generous contribution to our program through their sustainability funding.

ACAL was once again delighted to receive what has become an annual donation from The Mississauga Central Lions Club.


Who We Are

Applewood Centre for Adult Learning . . .
is a unique daytime destination in Mississauga for young men and women with special needs who are excited by their prospects to learn, grow and lead more active and meaningful lives.


Applewood Centre for Adult Learning serves adults with a wide range of intellectual and physical disabilities. A structured program of activities is planned around social stimulation, fitness and life skills, music and recreation, fostering independence, personal growth and social development.

ACAL is located within the Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Learning Centre, which is owned by the Dufferin Peel Catholic School Board. The Centre encompasses 4 classrooms, a personal care room and daily access to the gymnasium. The building is well-maintained and is easily accessible, providing a safe and familiar setting.



Counting Money

What We Do

Applewood Centre for Adult Learning programs are developed and delivered by an experienced, professional and caring staff consisting of teachers, PSW's and DSW's, all supported by an elected Board of Directors. Tuition fees are reasonable and arranged to cover operational costs.
