Applewood Centre for Adult Learning is grateful for its community support both past and present:

The Ontario Trillium Foundation was a key partner in our start up.

The Peel District School Board supported us with rent-free classroom space and access to the school gym and lunchroom from 2008 to 2012.

In September 2012, we found exceptional accommodations in the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Learning Centre through the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board.

Since 2013 we have received ongoing and major financial support through sustainability funding from the Region of Peel Community Investment Grant Program.

Beginning in 2014, Applewood has consistently been approved for generous funding from the City of Mississauga Community Grant Program.  These funds have enhanced our program through Recreational Respite, Access Music Therapy and the addition of our Multi-Sensory Music and Snoezelen Room in 2016.

Since 2015 federal government grants have provided funding to hire summer staff from related college and university programs through the Canada Summer Jobs initiative.

In 2017 we received a Canada-Ontario Job Grant to assist with Safe Management training.

Applewood has been honoured with generous, annual donations from the Mississauga Central Lions Club.

The Region of Peel and the United Way of Peel Region provided us with funding for a Capacity Building Framework.

College students in related programs from Humber, Sheridan, George Brown, Seneca, Everest and Medix have been placed at Applewood to complete their Field Placement Practicum.  We have also been involved with the Apprenticeship Training in Ontario Program through the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities.

We are extremely grateful to these supportive agencies and all private donors for their assistance to Applewood in providing essential services to young adults with special needs and their families.

Thank you to all!
